Community guidelines

Council Clarity exists so residents can hold their councillors to account. These guidelines keep conversations constructive and safe for everyone.

Stay on topic

Messages must be about council matters — local services, decisions, policies, planning, your neighbourhood, or how public money is spent. This is not a general complaints forum.

Be respectful

Criticise decisions, not people. You can be frustrated, disappointed, or angry about a policy — but personal attacks, insults, and name-calling are not acceptable.

No threats, abuse, or discrimination

Any form of threat, harassment, discriminatory language, or incitement to violence will result in your message being rejected and your account being reviewed.

No spam or commercial content

Do not use the platform to promote businesses, products, or services. Do not send duplicate or automated messages.
